This is a gorgeous car in a colour combination that suits it perfectly, and is in close to as-new condition, having been cherished by only two very careful owners. It was supplied new by Mercedes-Benz of Edgware Road, London in January 1994 to its first owner, an Egyptian lady who owned it for 18 years and kept it garaged at her London home. She spent most of her time in Egypt, so the car was only used on her occasional visits to the UK. We purchased it from her in 2012 with the mileage standing at around 14,000, and supplied it to its second and latest owner, a retired gentleman just around the corner from us in Wilmslow, where it replaced a 1950s Alvis as his special car for weekends and holidays. In the five years he has owned it he has covered only 5,000 miles, and it has been kept in his 
heated double garage and polished regularly. He and his wife are now downsizing their accommodation and will not have room to garage it, so it is once again available to a new owner.
Despite the tiny mileage covered, servicing has always been carried out at reasonable intervals timewise, with 12 entries in the book, all from Mercedes-Benz franchised dealers or independent Mercedes specialists. As well as the fully completed service book we have almost every MOT certificate since the car was three years old, and the majority of the service and repair invoices.
Everything is as it should be to give evidence of careful maintenance and sympathetic use by both owners. It has always been part of a multi car household, used for special trips and well cared for, which explains its beautiful condition.
It is a pleasure to drive, with instant response and ample power from the creamy smooth straight-six engine. All controls are taut and responsive as befits the fastidious maintenance regime which has been followed and the low mileage covered.
This is the actual car that features extensively in James Taylor’s 2012 book “Factory Original Mercedes SL”.
We have carried out a comprehensive mechanical check of the car in our own workshop. Any faults found have been remedied, and any required maintenance has been carried out. A schedule of this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
