This lovely vehicle was supplied new by Majestic Garages of Bournemouth to a local lady in June 1987. We don’t know how long she kept it, but by January 1997 it had had a further four keepers over a ten year period (probably including some husband/wife/company transfers and/or dealer registrations) and was about to go to its sixth, a lady in Hertfordshire. She kept it for eight years then in 2005 passed it on to a lady in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, who has owned it until now.
It has been serviced at least once a year for almost the whole of its life, the one exception being a five year period from 1999 during which it only covered 4,000 miles and was presumably in storage. There are 16 stamps from Mercedes dealers, seven from a franchised Toyota dealer, three from a TVR specialist and two from non-franchised garages, and we have many of the invoices showing that no expense has been spared in its maintenance. We will service it before handover to its new owner, so it will be ready for a further 6,000 miles before any scheduled attention is needed.
In 2016 it was treated to a body overhaul and substantial repaint at a cost of £3500, for which we have the invoice on file. The work included new front wings and new rear arches. As a result it is in superb condition throughout and drives beautifully. The metallic Petrol Blue paint colour is a rare option and goes perfectly with the grey leather interior.
Values of this model have been climbing steadily over recent years as a knock-on effect of the meteoric rise in prices of the earlier Pagoda model, and they show no sign of abating. Superb examples such as this one can therefore be thought of as a sound investment which is also a lovely thing to own and use.
We have carried out a comprehensive mechanical check of the car in our own workshop. Any faults found have been remedied, and any required maintenance has been carried out (see above). A schedule of this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
