This beautiful car, in one of the most sought after colour schemes, was supplied new by Hughes Mercedes of Beaconsfield to a local lady in August 1987. She kept it for three years, covering around 25,000 miles. In 1990 she passed it on to a lady in West London, who kept it for 20 years and covered a further 49,000 miles during her ownership, taking the mileage up to around 74,000. In April 2010 it went to a lady in Henley-on-Thames, who kept it for three years and only covered around 1,000 miles. In January 2013 it went to its fourth and latest owner, a gentleman in Wandsworth. He only added around 2,000 miles during its time with him.
It has been serviced at least once a year for almost the whole of its life, usually at much less than the manufacturer’s recommended 6,000 mile intervals. There are a remarkable 26 recorded services of which 13 are from Mercedes dealers, six from independent MB specialists, five from an independent prestige car specialist and the remaining two from non-franchised garages. We have many service and repair invoices on file, showing that no expense has been spared in its maintenance, along with many old MoT certificates. We will service it before handover to its new owner, so it will be ready for a further 6,000 miles before any scheduled attention is needed.
The car has been cherished by each of its owners, and it is in outstanding condition mechanically, structurally and cosmetically. It drives superbly and it looks and feels like a much younger car.
Values of this model have been climbing steadily over recent years as a knock-on effect of the meteoric rise in prices of the earlier Pagoda model, and they show no sign of abating. Superb examples such as this one can therefore be thought of as a sound investment which is also a lovely thing to own and use.
We have carried out a comprehensive mechanical check of the car in our own workshop. Any faults found have been remedied, and any required maintenance has been carried out. A schedule of this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
