This lovely vehicle was supplied new by Arlington Motor Company of Bedford to a local owner, and spent the first four years of its life with him, covering under 5,000 miles during that period. In 1988 it went to an architect in Coventry who kept it for 23 years until 2011, changing the ownership from his architectural practice to himself in 2003. By 2011, at 27 years old, it had done around 36,000 miles, at which point it went to a gentleman near Leicester, who kept it for just under two years and hardly used it. At that time we purchased it and supplied it to its latest owner, a gentleman near Newcastle Upon Tyne. He has now sold it back to us due to lack of use, having only driven it around 3,000 miles in the four years he has owned it.
It has been serviced regularly for the whole of its life, even during the years of low usage. Every one 
of the 24 stamps in the service book are from Mercedes-Benz franchised dealers. We have almost every MOT certificate since 1988 and many service and maintenance invoices from recent years. We will service it before handover to its new owner, so it will be ready for a further 6,000 miles before any scheduled attention is needed.
Having been properly garaged for all of its life, used sparingly and maintained unstintingly by each of its four owners it is in pristine condition throughout and drives beautifully, with ample and smooth power delivery from the silky six cylinder engine. The silver paint colour is a favourite for many purchasers, and the rarely found steel wheels with chrome and body coloured hubcaps give it an extra classic appeal which sets it apart from almost every other example of this model. It will always be admired in any company by those who know their Mercedes.
Values of this model have been climbing steadily over recent years as a knock-on effect of the meteoric rise in prices of the earlier Pagoda model, and they show no sign of abating. Superb examples such as this one can therefore be thought of as a blue-chip investment which is also a lovely thing to own and use.
We have carried out a comprehensive mechanical check of the car and any faults found have been remedied. All required maintenance has been carried out (see above). A schedule of this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
