This is a gorgeous car in one of the most sought-after colour combinations, and is in superb condition throughout. As with most SL500s, being at the top of the range, it is very highly specified with all the desirable options present.
It was supplied new in August 1994 by Hughes Mercedes-Benz of Beaconsfield, and we think it was their demonstrator for a few months before being sold to its first true owner in London. By 1997 it had moved to an owner in Chiswick who kept it for 15 years and took it up to a total of 42,000 miles. In 2012 it was briefly registered to a gentleman in Lichfield, who we believe was a motor trader, before going four months later to a Mercedes-Benz collector and club member in Ormskirk, Lancs. who is a good customer of ours. He has used it sparingly for the last three years at an average of around 2,000 miles per 
annum and enjoyed it as a weekend and holiday car, including at least one continental tour, but has now exchanged it for a W123 estate.
Servicing has always been carried out within the Mercedes-Benz franchised network, with nine dealer entries in the book. We have serviced it again, so it is now ready for a further 9,000 miles before any scheduled maintenance is due. As well as the fully completed service book we have almost every MOT certificate since the car was three years old and many of the service and repair invoices.
Everything is as it should be to give evidence of careful maintenance and sympathetic use by each owner. As far as we can tell it has always been part of a multi car household, used mainly for special trips and well cared for, which explains its beautiful condition.
It is a pleasure to drive, with instant response and ample power from the creamy smooth V8 engine. All controls are taut and responsive as befits the fastidious maintenance regime which has been followed.
We have carried out a comprehensive mechanical check of the car in our own workshop. Any faults found have been remedied, and any required maintenance has been carried out (see above). Invoices for this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
