This beautiful coupe was supplied new in August 1985 by Lancaster Mercedes-Benz of Ipswich to a director of an old established printing company in Colchester, and we think he kept it until around 1991. Following that it has had a further three owners, all in the Suffolk/Essex area, before being acquired by a well known member of the Mercedes-Benz Club from Yorkshire early in 2009. He is a serial collector of W123 cars and always has too many for his limited storage facilities, so we persuaded him to let this one go.

Servicing was carried out by the supplying dealer for the first five years of its life, with nine of their stamps in the book, taking it upto 51,000 miles. After this there are three stamps from a non-franchised garage in Frinton, five from an independent Mercedes specialist in Coggeshall and one from an independent Mercedes specialist in Colchester. We have just had it serviced by our independent Mercedes specialist, so it is now ready for a further 6,000 miles without scheduled attention.

Nautic Blue is a lovely rich, deep metallic shade, and is a very popular colour for this model. It is not that common, having only been introduced for the last few years of the model’s life. Combined with the rarely specified cream leather interior this makes it a delight to behold and a very desirable car to own. The car is in Beautiful condition throughout with hardly a mark anywhere, and drives superbly.

W123 Mercedes cars in this condition are now very rare and sought-after. They have a feel of solidity and timelessness which is completely missing from current models, and yet they are perfectly suited to everyday use in modern traffic conditions if so desired. This one is sure to be much admired wherever it goes with its new owner.

We have commissioned a comprehensive mechanical check of the car by our independent Mercedes-Benz specialist. Any faults found have been remedied, and any scheduled maintenance has been carried out (see above). Invoices for this work will be supplied with the car, along with our own warranty, details of which can be supplied on request.
